SWEET ALCHEMY CONSULTING PROJECT - MGMT 440
During spring quarter, I took MGMT 440. In this class, I was paired with a team to work as consultants for a Seattle small business. We selected Sweet Alchemy (located on the Ave). Although it was a long and involved project, It was fascinating to learn the ins-and-outs of what goes into running a small business. We helped Sweet Alchemy address internet connectivity issues, explore alternative inventory management systems, and improve their POS system. The owner, Lois Ko, expressed her gratitude for our work on the project and even asked if she could share it with other business owners. I was delighted to serve a business that is such a staple to the UW community.

"10 THINGS I LIKE ABOUT YOU" FINAL PROJECT - IS 300

Despite being a relatively simple class, IS 300 was insightful and engaging. I particularly enjoyed my professor, Tayfun Keskin, as he was knowledgeable, humorous, and friendly. For our final project, we were tasked with developing a business plan based on an emerging information technology. My group decided to craft an alternative dating app, "10 Things I Like About You" that focused on matching users based on common interests and personality versus appearance. I enjoyed the lighthearted nature of our project and pitching an idea that
was relevant to my classmates. My group was easy to work with and we ended with a final project that we were all proud of. Overall, this class gave me a comprehensive introduction to information systems and the evolving nature of technology.
PRODUCT OUTREACH VIDEO - MKTG 335
MKTG 335 was the first class that I took for the Jack and Ann Rhodes Professional Sales Certificate. It was interesting to investigate the science of selling and study the soft skills that make a successful salesperson, such as active listening, grit, and general relationship building. One of our assignments was a product outreach video that pitched an item to a potential customer. Our instructor encouraged us to be creative and incorporate memorable elements into our video. Filming an assignment versus turning in a written copy was definitely outside of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed the challenge. I also incorporated one of my passions, music, into the assignment to pitch a set of JBL speakers for an office environment to improve workplace productivity with the use of calming sounds.
